"I learned that people can easily forget that others are human."
I really wanted a tattoo that represented the way the books have impacted my life, and how they continue to do so. It’s not just a “kid” thing or something that exists solely in the books. What you read really becomes a part of you and it IS real at that time. So Dumbledore’s quote was perfect for this. I love it and even my non-HP loving husband agrees that it came out looking pretty nice.

Harry has gotten me through some of the worse times in my life. This quote has a lot of personal meaning, thats why it’s over my heart. Done at the Rockin’ Horse in New Hartford, NY by Abbie.
there’s something really interesting in this passage that I wanted to point out
Trelawney assumes that Harry was born in midwinter because of his “dark hair” and “mean stature” and “tragic losses so young in life”
Tom Riddle was born in midwinter, is describe in CoS as resembling Harry, and his mother died right after his birth
Harry has a piece of Voldemort’s soul in him
that’s why Trelawney made that assumption
I pointed this out in my Harry Potter class today and everyone started yelling and about five people told me to go to hell
this was so confusing when i first read it because i’m australian and in australia july IS midwinter
but hold on HARRY POTTER CLASS?

"Harry now carried a large cage that held a beautiful snowy owl, fast asleep with her head under her wing."
This is by far my favorite tattoo on my body. It goes without saying that I have an honest love and appreciation for the entire Harry Potter series and I will carry that with me for the many years to come.
I had this done by Doug Fawkes at the Flaming Gun in Colchester. This is my first tattoo.
I wanted the deathly hallows to look as if it had been drawn with a quill.
Now I’ve started I can’t wait to get the next.
The woman is me and the black bear is the patronus that helps me fight my very real dementors. This is the start of a sleeve, with butterflies and snowflakes and a jar with blue flames to come! I’m so in love with it, though it is still very swollen and red in this picture.
